Title: Sequences vs Functions; Skip counting vs Multiplication; “Oh, I get it” vs “Ah, I see”; Patterns vs Structure
Stimulated by an article from MT247 (the ATM journal) by Anne Watson on the role of sequences in the National Curriculum, this session will explore a range of mathematical situations where an emphasis on structure can produce deep mathematical thinking. Pete will also invite you to discuss the teaching implications of this.
