The Liverpool Mathematical Society was founded in 1899 and has been affiliated to The Mathematical Association since 1929.
We run a number of events, ranging from professional development activities for teachers in both the Primary and Secondary school sector, through to student competitions involving a Sixth-form Quiz and Mathematical Challenges. We also organise a series of (free) popular mathematics lectures aimed at both teachers and students alike. Some events involve a small fee.
Events are listed below but the branch website will have comprehensive details of the current programme.
The venues for these meetings are usually split between the University of Liverpool; Liverpool John Moores University, and Liverpool Hope University College.
